The Woodlands Time Capsule in Cochran's Crossing

Shadowbend Park in Cochran's Crossing holds a "time capsule" for The Woodlands community. The historical marker for the time capsule reads:

TIME CAPSULE

Encased below this spot is a time capsule containing memorabilia of The Woodlands. The capsule was planted on July 9, 1983 as a part of the ceremonies commemorating the grand opening of the Village of Cochran's Crossing. It is intended to be opened 100 years from that date -- July 9, 2083.

As we have planted and nurtured the forest which is so much a part of our lives in The Woodlands, we have planted this time capsule containing the rich heritage of hopes, dreams, faith and peace from which we have woven the continuing fabric of our community.
